Creating a Fluid Art Practice

Creating a fluid art practice, overcoming creative block

Love Wonderful, Creative Yous:

One of the things that scares artists of all levels of experience is creative cake. It'southward something we talk almost all the time in our Facebook group, Creative Self-Care, just something that fifty-fifty professional artists confront. You tin encounter this encouraging Instagram post from my net art buddy Roxanne Coble, who candidly shared just how deep and discouraging artistic ruts can exist.

If you are feeling uninspired, unable to brainstorm, or just plainly stuck, y'all aren't alone. Artistic ruts tin be incredibly disheartening and make you question whether or not yous should carp to make art at all. I've found, as Twyla Tharp suggests in The Artistic Habit, that establishing my own creative routines is the cardinal to keeping my creative juices flowing consistently. (And part of those routines is taking breaks when needed.)

Today I'm sharing a bit most my own creative routines over the last few years, and why they've helped me weave more art into my everyday life.

If this gets your beautiful, creative heart pounding, y'all can learn more nearly my new class, Fluid Art, and for a limited time, take advantage of the pre – auction price of $99 with code: FLUIDART30.

Fugitive Artistic Block

  • Work small
  • Work in curt bursts
  • Deport a portable art kit
  • Cut and collage your art work to infuse new life into your work

What helps you overcome creative block? Tell us about it in the comments.

Creatively Yours,

Amy
